Debbie and I slept in, had prayer, and got ready to drive over to George and Laura Gourley's to check on Bruter and watch the morning session of the 193rd General Conference today. Debbie and I packed some groceries for breakfast and lunch before driving over this morning. We unloaded the car and Debbie took Bruder, their dog, for a walk. Alex Gourley, their son, who is getting ready for a mission set the TV up for Debbie and me to watch General Conference today. When we arrived, Debbie took Bruter, the dog, for a walk and then started preparing Sunday dinner. Alex Gourley spent the night here last night and when we arrived he went over to Melissa's, his girlfriend, to watch conference. Before he left he set the TV up for us to watch Genereal Conference. Elder Dallin H. Oaks conducted the morning session of conference. Elder Chrsitoperan spoke first, Palm Sunday and Christ. Then the President of General Relief Society, Sister Compilla Johnson spoke about burdens. Elder Soras of the Quorum of 12 spoke about today being Palm Sunday and the empty tomb and 1847. Elder Yamiohita spoke about Patriarch Blessings. Neil A. Anderson spoke, then Elder Kevin Duncan of the Quorum of the Seventy spoke about the great plan of happiness. President Russell M. Nelson was the concluding speaker of the Sunday morning session, his message was to love one another, be a peacemaker, charity, and model your life after the life of the Savior. During the first and second sessions, we watched one of the movies of the Chosen. At 2:00 PM MST, the afternoon and last session of the 193rd Session of General Conference started. President Eyring conducted. President Dallin H. Oaks spoke first of some of the sayings of Christ during His mortal ministry. President M. Russell Ballard spoke next about his wife Barbara who he longs for. The children put on their mother's grave marker some of her favorite sayings, one was, "What matters most in life is what last longest", relationship with Christ and Heavenly Father, relationship with family and friends, things that bring love, joy, and happiness. Follow the prompting of the Holy Spirit. Increase your faith, testify of what you know and feel, not just what you are thankful for; a testimony comes from a broken heart. Elder Ronald D. Rasband talked about Palm Sunday and the week before the resurrection. The people who he ministered to in Gungia, Africa named this "I Love You Conference". Mark Bassett of the Seventy spoke of Christ and Lazarus in Bethany, strengthen your testimony and watch for miracles. *The new Seventy that was sustained yesterday, Ahmad Corbitt spoke about why Christ should have to die, demands of justice. Moses held up the brazen serpent in the wilderness, those who believed and looked on it were heated. Many would not because it was not reasonable to think that looking on the brazen serpent Moses had lifted up could heal them and they died. (I was very impressed with this young man). Elder David A. Bednar talked about Enoch and his inadequacies but as we make Christ the center of our lives we become adequate to the task. President Russell M. Nelson was the concluding speaker. He asked us to study the talks given during this conference and the Come Follow Me lesson of Christ's mission during his last week in mortality. He announced 15 new temples to be built. After conference Debbie took Border for a wall, We packed the leftover food we brought, locked the house, and drove home. We had prayer, studied scriptures and went to bed.
