Note: Come Follow Me, Taylor and Tyler: C.S. Lewis in Mere Christianity near the end of chapter 3: Christ says He is humble and meek, and we believe Him, not noticing that He was merely a man, humility and meekness are the very last characteristics we could attribute to some of His sayings. I am trying here to prevent anyone saying the really foolish thing that people often say about Him: “I’m ready to accept Jesus as a great moral teacher, but I don’t accept His claim to be God.” That is the one thing we must not say. A man who was merely a man and said the sort of things Jesus said would not be a great moral teacher. He would either be a lunatic—on a level with the man who says he is a poached egg—or else he would be the Devil of Heck. You must make your choice. Either this man was, and is, the Son of God: or else a madman or something worse. You can shut Him up for a fool, you can spit at Him and kill Him as a demon, or you can fall at His feet and call Him Lord and God. But let us not come with any patronizing nonsense about His being a great human teacher. He has not left that open to us. He did not intend to.
The situation is similar with Joseph Smith, either he was a sherkston, con artist, an imposter who was willing to die for something that was not true or else he was a prophet of God, whom God the Father and His Son Jesus Christ appeared to. God has left it open for us to decide, but He has given evidence that he was a true prophet by his fruit, The Book of Mormon, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and the Holy Ghost which bears witness of the truth.
Everyone slept in. I had my personal prayer and studied the scriptures in John, Come Follow Me, lesson, for the week. Jimmy Morris sent an email telling me he has mailed the rental checks for May. He included his mother, Nancy, her son, daughter, and niece but did not include Michael or Matthew again. I forwarded the email to them. I took a shower. When the girls got up we all went to the buffet for breakfast where we met Matthew, Melodie, Ava, and Vickie. Later Debbie went shopping with the girls, Melodie, and Vickie. We went with the girls, Madeline and Bella, to rock climb. We all went to the digital and live actors/dancers in the musical, "Crash and Burn". Ava said it was the best show ever with cartoon action figures. Matthew and I called and talked with Michael in California. He is going to Georgia on May 8th. Jimmy has not responded to his email about a time he can meet with him at A&M's office and review the books and financials. At 7:30 PM we all went to dinner at the Main Restaurant. on the 5th floor. Lobster and Baked Alaska were on the menu. Shrijit , Head Waiter from India, brought a dessert with a candle to celebrate Madeline's placing 3rd in the World Cheer Competition. Matthew ordered Escarogis for an appetizer. I did not try it others did. After dinner, Matt came up to our room when the girls were all down for the night. Matthew and I talked about getting an attorney in Rome, GA to send an email to Jimmy Morris to prepare A&M Investments for an audit. We had family prayer and got to bed a little after midnight.
