Debbie and I were up at about 7 AM, had prayer, showered, and had a Zoom meeting with Mirko, Ljubica, and Bojana. I think Debbie has got things set up with all the airlines for them needing assistance as seniors get from gate to gate and through security. Mirko told us their landlord came by and wanted the rent for April and May which has. not been paid. They told him they are going to America in June for 3 months. Their rent is 500 Euros a month. I told Bojana, their daughter, we will send them to pay the rent for 5 months, some money for the airline charges for a checked bag, and some extra money for food, etc. Bojana is sending us the instruction for sending money to her account. She has made contact with someone to talk to in the NBA who is from Serbia or Croatia when she gets here. Debbie and I went to Abbington Memory Center. The C&As had put chairs, podium, etc out for church. When the ward with today's assignment came, the priesthood set up the sacrament. Debbie passed out the songbooks. Kody conducted, the young women sang, and one of the mothers, Sister Nicole Hopkins, played the piano. Her son and another deacon passed the sacrament. A young 17-year-old sister spoke. After church services and things were put up for next week and the microphone and put the speakers on the charger. We came home and loaded the potatoes and grill in the SUV and took them over to George and Laura's. We attended Highland 38th Ward. Debbie and I got there early and helped save seats. Those that came from George's side of the family and friends and Jody's family and friends, five rows were taken. Clara spoke, and Alex played the trombone and spoke. The high councilman was the concluding speaker. Many of the family came over to George and Laura's afterward. Someone brought Shirley Hobbs, 94 years old, Alex's great-grandmother. I drove over to Saratoga Springs stake center at 587 S. Saratoga Road at 5 PM for training to be an open house usher on June 1st at 11AM. Everything surrounding the Saratoga Springs open house is well organized. They have a total of 42,000 volunteers, 36,000 of those are ushers. Our open house will go on for 12 weeks. Most only last 6 weeks. This is the first new temple open house in Utah in 7 years. There will be many more planned temple dedications in the next few years. This one will be a model for the others. Brother and Sister Palmer conducted the training this evening. They went over a minute-by-minute detail of the agenda for Thursday, June 1st. There are 3 shifts from 8 AM to 6 PM with a 1-hour overlap between the shift with a smooth transition of the workers from one shift to the next. Spencer Miller is the coordinator for the stakes in the Saratoga Springs Temple District. Michael and Sister C. Sgloria are the Coordinators for the Stake Usher Couples. After the training at 6 PM, I drove back to George and Laura's. Debbie and I took Shirley back to her assisted living home in Provo. Laura and her girls brought Debbie's crackpots, grill, bowls, chairs, table, etc. back this evening just as it started raining again. I tried calling all the children, Michael, Matthew, Beth, and Rae Lynn. Matthew is the only one I could get. Elain called. She is tired but getting over her surgery. I talked to Ora for a minute or so before she was too tired to talk. Debbie and I had a lite dinner, studied scriptures, and had prayer before going to bed.
