Note: It seems that when we have a life of ease, this ease becomes an obstacle to our eternal progression. While eternal progression is smoother and faster in adversity.
*Note: Consecrate: To make and declare and dedicate formally for a divine purpose. In the Church, we often think of consecration in terms of one's talents, worldly substance, and our life, but we should also include in all we have, our sorrows, sadness, and ashes. The Lord can turn our ashes into treasures. In many cultures, the phoenix coming forth from the ashes was a symbol of resurrection.
Had prayer and later Debbie and I had prayer together before I drove down to Great Clips and got my hair cut. I picked up some spinach and milk for breakfast. When I got home Debbie had breakfast on the table. I made a spinach, carrot, and apple smoothie. We blessed the food and after eating and cleaning the kitchen, Debbie and Bojana drove to SLC to meet and have lunch with Luka Samanic, Utah Jazz basketball player from Croatia and Slaven Klupcic, strengthening and conditing coach, also from Croatia. Luka started playing basketball here in the NBA in 2019 at the age of 19. He has played for the Spurs, Celtics, and Knicks. Bojana's friend, Luka Stepancic is a Croatian professional handball player for SC Pick Szeged, a Hungarian professional handball club, and the Croatian national team. He called his friend Luak Samanic and set up the meeting today for Bojana. After the meeting, Bojana decided she did not want to follow employment with any of the professional, Basketball, handball, soccer, etc. professional teams but seek employment and work at BYU. I received a counteroffer for A&M Investments from Steven Cornelison, Attorney for Janie Morris Dunman, that Eric Fisher, my attorney, forwarded. Alex, my granddaughter, called, came by, and brought the Land Rover. She asked for and I gave her a priesthood blessing before leaving for England. I really enjoy being around her; she is so kind and loving. She called and talked to dad and mom, Michael and Autumn. They are celebrating their 25th Anniversary in Bora Bora, Bora Bora is a small South Pacific island northwest of Tahiti in French Polynesia. I went with her to put the remaining items from her apartment in her self-storage unit. We went to see "Fez" Ely Baker who is a friend of Alex's and wanted to see her before she leaves for England. He has Autism. His family is embarrassed he is their son and he is supported by the State of Utah. He was really happy to see Alex. He is about 30 years old and life is not easy for him. Alex told him goodbye and we drove to The Riverwoods. Alex got a card and a small gift for Jake's mother who is taking her to the Provo airport this afternoon. We met Allison Weenig at the Happy Sumo restaurant. Jaked was working in Park City, helping his dad install cabinets. Jake's sister, Sammy, was there with her baby, Harper. We put Alexandra "Alex's" luggage in Allison's car and I drove back home to Lehi. Allison is taking Alex to Provo Airport to catch her flight at about 6 PM. Debbie, Bojana, and I ate dinner. Debbie and I attended an endowment session at the Saratoga Springs Temple with President and Sister (David and Rebecca) Melonakos and other missionaries from the Adriatic North Mission. When we got home we had prayer with Bojana and visited with her. Debbie and I had prayer before going to bed.
"Fez" Ely Baker and Alex
