9:00 a.m. - San Clemente California Stake Conference

Beth took some of Tucker's friends home and did not get to bed until almost 3 a.m.  John, one of Tucker's friends, spent the night here.  Maggie brought Charlie, the dog, downstairs early this morning and put him in his cage.  He was not happy and mooned and barked until I got up and took him for a walk while it was still dark.  When I got back Maggie took him to her room.  I went back to bed.  I got up at about 7:30 a.m., had prayer, showered, shaved, and got dressed in my suite.  I attended San Clemente Stake Conference.  A new stake was organized from the San Clemente Stake, the Laguna Nigeuel Stake, and part of the Mission Viejo Stake.  President Mark A. Bragg, North America West Area President presided.  Note: If you don't recognize spiritual experiences, pray to the Lord he will open your eyes so you can see and recognize them.

The Lord is in the details; view trials and opposition in a new light.

Definition of the atonement, "Christ paid a debt He did not owe for us, a debt we owed but could not pay."

A fighter pilot told about a dogfight training exercise where he was flying an F-15 very fast and another American pilot was flying a newer and improved F-18 but not as fast as the F-15.  If the pilot in the F-18 can get the pilot to slow down he can make a kill. He was doing this by getting the F-15 pilot distracted and slowing down.  The F-15 pilot realized he had slowed down just in time and pulled straight up, did a loop, and came down on top and behind the F-18 and made the kill.  When asked how did he do it, he replied, I had practiced that maneuver until it was second nature.

Despite entering service nearly a half-century ago, the McDonnell Douglas F-15 Eagle remains one of the most potent and capable air superiority fighters on the planet. The Eagle may not be as technologically advanced as its fifth-generation stablemates, the F-22 Raptor and F-35 Joint Strike Fighter, but what it lacks in stealth the F-15 makes up for in classic Cold War-style: with incredible engineering and good old-fashioned brute force. In fact, this aircraft is so capable–and powerful–that a pilot once flew an F-15 ten miles and then landed it, all after losing the aircraft’s entire right wing.

In the years that followed after the entrance of the Russian MiG-25 Foxbat in 1970 the stage and was the dominant fighter jet on the planet. The American F-15, aircraft appeared in the theater of war in 1976.  The F-15 was designed to compete with the MiG-25, which until then been an air-dominant fighter without equal, which had devour its competition in fight after fight. The first air-to-air kill in an F-15 was logged by an Israeli pilot in 1979, and since then, Israeli pilots have scored numerous wins, more than 60 shoot-downs     But the most incredible thing an Israeli pilot may have ever pulled off with the venerable F-15 came in 1983, when pilot Ziv Nedivi and instructor Yehoar Gal managed to land the top-tier fighter after losing its entire right wing in a mid-air collision.

We have the Holy Spirit, the priesthood, and the gospel and we are enlisted in the greatest war ever fought or will ever be fought.  Unless we are trained and familiar with our weapons, they will be of very little use to us against Satan and his legions.

After stake conference, I drove over and saw Autumn.  Brett, Ethan, and Luke had gone to the begal shop for breakfast.  Autumn cooked eggs for breakfast and sliced some banana bread she had made.  Gracie got up when Ethan and Luke got back with their dad.  I visited and then drove over to Beth's and changed out of my suite.  Then drove up to Irvine to watch Maggie play a soccer game.   Beth and I visited until the game was over.  Maggie and her friend stayed for the boys soccer game.  There is a little boy on the team that Maggie like and Beth is close to his parents.  I drove over to AIM Sports Complex at Seal Beach. I set with Luke and Brett and watched Ethan and his team play volleyball.  I only stayed for one game that ended at 4 p.m.  His next game is at 6 p.m.  I called Debbie this afternoon and had prayer with her.  She is doing better.  I got back to Beth's at about 5 p.m.  Beth cooked dinner and then took Tucker and Maggie to a devotional broadcast where President Nelson spoke.  Autumn is picking Michael up at about 8:30 p.m. at the Orange County Airport.  Beth made sandwiches for dinner.  I called and talked to Debbie; we had prayer together.  When Tucker and Maggie got home we had family prayer.  I sent a text to Michael and Matthew about having a conference meeting with Eric Fisher, Attorney, regarding A&M Investments tomorrow at 1 p.m. Pacific Time/4 p.m. Eastern Time.  I suggested the 3 of us meet first. I got to bed before 10 p.m.
