12:00 Noon - Church at Lehi 7th Ward
Debbie and I had prayer together, and I had my personal prayer as we do every morning and night. Karlene left early this morning, at about 4:30 a.m., to go to St. Mark Hospital to check on Joe L. The 5 bottles I ordered from Amigo Foods of Morada, the purple corn drink, from Peru were on the porch this morning. Debbie fixed a nice breakfast this morning. I showered, shaved, and got ready for church. When Debbie got ready we went to Lehi 7th Ward at noon. I sent Gavin and Braddock a happy birthday text. I sent them on a thread with other family members. I added a footnote to Braddock for Pat and Anndalyn, his parents, to "pass the text on to Braddock". We attended Sacrament, Priesthood, and Relief Society Meetings today. Elder Matthew Shaw, a service missionary, spoke and his mother in Sacrament meeting. There were some brownies left over from the church party last night. I got one for Debbie, one for Braddock, and one for Karlene. We came home and Debbie worked on our evening meal and we drove over to Pat and Anndalyn's and wished Braddock a happy 11th birthday and visited with the family. Then we drove to the St. Marks Hospital, in Murray, UT to see and visit with Joe L. Higham. He is having it rough with his blood sugar, diabetes, and cancer. With all his challenges he still looked better than I expected. When we got home, Debbie prepared dinner. Shelby and Nick came by. Shelby brought Debbie a Christmas present and we showed pictures and told them about our trip to Peru. Karlene stayed with Joe L. until he got settled and was resting before coming here. I called and talked to most of the children today. Rae Lynn was on her way back from Southern California where Luke and Ethan had been in a volleyball tournament. Matthew has permanent Christmas lights left over and wants to know if Debbie and I want them to put on our home. Beth took Tucker, Maggie, and Andrew, and 3. other families cooked breakfast and others in the ward cooked and brought food over to Beth's and the three other families who drove down and served breakfast to the Marines at Camp Pendleton. Karlene got back before 10:30 p.m. Debbie and I had prayer before going to bed.
