Send Elder Alex Gourley a letter for Christmas. Note:

              MERRY CHRISTMAS ELDER ALEX GOURLEY

We are all so thankful to the Lord for you and all the blessings that come to us and others through your service and sacrifice.

The Lord sees and knows your heart, nothing is hid from His all-seeing eye.  Your effectiveness as a missionary is determined by how much you love the Lord, those you serve with, and those you teach.

One of the reasons we came to this earth was to gain a physical body.  We need this physical body to gain light.  You gain light by loving God, loving all His children, and by keeping His commandments.  Before Christ left the earth he prayed for his apostles and those who will believe on Him that they would be one as He and the Father are one. (John 17:20)  When the Savior and Heavenly Father appeared to Joseph Smith, they appeared as a light that exceeds the light of the sun.

At this time our light cannot compare with the Savior’s or Heavenly Father’s.  Others may not be able to see your light but as your light grows your investigators will be able to sense and feel that love and light.

We love you Elder Gourley and our prayers are with you, not just during this Christmas season but every day.

Grandpa James L. McAlpiin and Grandma

I was up early, had my personal prayer, and took some recycling and trash to the street before the city makes its pickup.  When Debbie got up we had prayer together.  I thought I would be over the diarrhea by today but not so.  I checked my email and was on a thread Debbie sent.  She wants everyone to write a Christmas letter to Alex, George and Laura's son.  She will put them all together in a Christmas stocking she is sending with some goodies.  She has to mail them by the end of the week or the first part of next week for them to get to him before Christmas.  I paid the American Express payment before it was due.  I called ABCmouse.com to cancel the account and spent time with computers being switched from one to another before being disconnected, never being able to speak to a person at.  I called Capital One and reported it to them as fraud.  Debbie went to help her daughter Laura with her Grandmother, Shirley Hobbs.  I ordered some Chicha Morada, a purple corn drink, and a jar of Guanabana from Amigo Foods.com this morning.  I will use the guanabana to make some ice cream for the grandchildren for Christmas.  We were introduced to this drink and guanabana ice cream last month in Peru.  I emailed and called Darrell Harmon. 801-680-7573 darhar4@gmail.com, he is Point Meadows 1st Ward.  He is no relation to Roger Harmon, whose wife, Maxine, passed away recently.  He took Brother Johnson, who took Brother Jeff Meeks' place on the stake high council responsibility over Abbington Memory Center.  I told him that December 31st is my wife's birthday and I would like to be with her at Tabernacle Choir and Spoken Word program that day in Salt Lake.  He said he would be glad to cover for us.  Debbie got home; I put screws to hand Christmas wreaths in the sunroom.  The Pecks came by and brought a small loaf of Christmas bread.  When they left Debbie took some things she had made to a single mother she ministers to.  Michael returned my call.  I asked him about using my iPhone to open and crank the Subaru Outback.  The model I have is too old for the software to work.  He will help me later get my computer to work more efficiently.  He said he would be coming up to pick up the tag registration for the different vehicles he has sent payments to DMV here in UT.  I studied scriptures.  Debbie and I had prayer together before going to bed.
